How do I use Sherpa?

Sherpa is a beautiful app that is extremely simple to use, available on iOS and Android.

You can order items for delivery in 1 of 2 ways:

  1. Simply login as a user on our front page then choose ‘Simple Pick Up and Delivery'.
  2. Describe to us what item you need us to deliver with the pick up and delivery address, then checkout.

OR

  1. Login as a user on our front page then choose ‘Purchase and Delivery'.
  2. Describe to us your item in detail, from which shop or store we can get it and how much it should cost.
  3. Add the store name and address, the delivery location, then checkout.

When Can I use Sherpa?

Sherpa is available from 7:00am until 9:00pm. 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Which cities is Sherpa available in?

Sherpa is currently operating in the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth metro areas. We'll be expanding to more suburbs and cities very soon.

What can I have delivered with Sherpa?

If it's an item available in a store or restaurant in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, we can deliver it. Pizza from your Italian place, Messina ice cream from across town, ice and booze for your bbq, new sneakers from Nike, an iPhone charger from the Apple store, prescriptions from the pharmacy, you name it. You can also send anything to anyone, your friend's laptop left after Friday nights party, some important papers for your client's office or even a bonsai for your dear grandma.

Who makes the deliveries?

We call our couriers Sherpas. Sherpas are personally onboarded by our Operations team to complete deliveries in your city. When your delivery is accepted, you are immediately introduced to your Sherpa with a name, photo and contact number, so you can keep control of your delivery at all times.

Is everyone on a bike?

Sherpas are on bikes, in cars, on scooters, and in trucks or vans.

How much does it cost?

Delivery fees start at $5 and are determined by the distance from pick up to drop off and the size and weight of the item. Additionally, a 6% service fee is applied to the purchase price of your items.

How do you decide who accepts my delivery?

Deliveries are immediately assigned to the best possible Sherpa. There is no “waiting” or “bidding” process. Our dispatch algorithm accounts for several different factors such as vehicle type, rating and more, to determine which Sherpa is best suited for your job.

Can I request a specific Sherpa?

You cannot request a specific Sherpa at this time. We will always dispatch to the best Sherpa for the job, ensuring your delivery arrives as quickly as possible.

What if I need to contact my Sherpa?

You can call or text your Sherpa at any point during your delivery, directly from the App.

Does Sherpa deliver to commercial addresses?

Absolutely, We will deliver to your home, office, the middle of the park or even the hospital delivery room. Just be sure to enter a detailed description of the drop off location and our Sherpa will find you.

What if I need to edit my pick up or drop off address?

If you have not placed your order yet, you can edit the drop off directly from the check out page. If you've already placed your order and need to change the pick up and/or drop off, you can call your Sherpa directly from the App. He/She will notify HQ to adjust the delivery price if necessary

What if I need to change my order or add an item?

Call your Sherpa as soon as you realise you need to change the order. Depending on when the changes are requested, your delivery may take longer than the allocated time.

Is a tip required? Where does the money go?

A tip is not required. If you would like to leave a tip, go ahead, 100% goes to your Sherpa for their effort on the delivery.

Can I tip my Sherpa with cash?

Yes, absolutely.

How do you hire your Sherpas?

All Sherpas are thoroughly vetted, including a background check, in-person interview and test jobs.

What if my delivery takes longer than 2 hours?

If your delivery takes longer than 2 hours, we will e-mail or call you to follow up. If it's late due to our own error, we may refund the delivery cost.

Can I have alcohol delivered?

Yes you can. It's a beautiful thing, you will have to present a valid ID before getting your item.

Can I send items to someone in a different city?

Unfortunately not.. However, you can send someone in a different city something from the same city they are in. Is your partner on a business trip interstate? You can send them a gift to their hotel or office from anywhere in the city they are in.

Can I get items from Gumtree delivered?

We can only deliver a purchase from Gumtree if you have already paid the seller or if the person you are purchasing from will accept a credit card or PayPal payment. We will not pay cash for an item off Gumtree and we cannot pick up cash from you and then retrieve the item.
