Delivering love: How Sherpa helped Roses Only grow Valentine’s Day volume

Every year in the lead up to Valentine’s Day, Roses Only sees an increased volume of orders, with customers wanting to share their love on the big day. Initially servicing their customer base via an internal delivery fleet, the company knew that their rapid growth would soon warrant another delivery solution.

They found the solution in Sherpa’s fast and efficient 2-hour delivery window, which enabled the successful delivery of over 350 extra bouquets of flowers to happy customers on Valentine’s Day 2016. With a humming internal fleet and external support through Sherpa’s on-demand delivery options, Roses Only could now continue out-servicing competitors with fast and reliable same-day and on-demand delivery.

But delivering love to the masses has its challenges, and with the business growing in delivery volume every year, the company still needed a way to scale their same-day delivery offering beyond the capacity of their internal delivery fleet and meet an exponentially growing customer demand.

In light of this, Roses Only and Sherpa introduced volume-based delivery runs, enabling one Sherpa Driver to deliver a high number of orders in a pre-routed run. With this innovation, Roses Only now had an increased capacity for same day delivery fulfilment, and on Valentine’s Day 2017, delivery volume grew 660% on the previous year.

Powered by Sherpa’s NORA Award-Winning delivery technology, and the dynamic scalability of Australia’s largest crowd-sourced fleet, Roses Only have achieved an average year-on-year growth rate of 45% for Valentine’s Day delivery volume through Sherpa.

Through development and implementation of tailored delivery solutions for Valentine’s Day and other event days such as Mother’s Day, Roses Only have continued to use Sherpa to streamline the ‘last mile’ (the last leg of the fulfilment journey in which the customer receives their order), and the partnership now sends little stems of love and celebratory bouquets to loved ones throughout Australia all year round.
